Job Offer

First you need a job offer from a Lithuanian employer

Employer Files with Employment Service

  • Employer registers the job vacancy with the local Employment Service (territorial level) if required.
  • If they can, they apply for a work permit or a decision that the labour market demand is met.

Work Permit Issuance

  • The work permit (if needed) is issued by the Employment Service.
  • oFor seasonal work, the permit is valid up to 6 months. For standard employment, permits generally up to 2 years, may be renewed

Residence Permit / Visa

  • Once the work permit is in place, you apply for a National Long-Term Visa (Visa D) if neededFor longer stay / employment, apply for a Temporary Residence Permit based on employment.

Other Formalities

  • Paying applicable fees.
  • Submitting proof of qualifications / experience. Police clearance, copy of passport, etc.
  • oHealth insurance, proof of financial means may also be required.

Approval & Entry/Start Work
